Liverpool University clinical trial shows Liquid Foot Care significantly reduces digital dermatitis

A five month trial undertaken by University of Liverpool School of Veterinary Clinical Sciences has shown that Bolshaw Liquid Foot Care significantly reduces the number of cows with digital dermatitis in dairy herds.

Overseen by Dr. Robert Smith at the University’s Wood Park Farm the trial produced some notable results;

• The number of milking cows free from any signs of digital dermatitis nearly doubled from 21% to 40% after being treated with Liquid Foot Care.

• 43% of milkers that started the trial with red ‘acute’ lesions had fallen to 17% at the end of the study.

• In a direct comparison with a 3% copper sulphate solution, Liquid Foot Care was found to work equally as well.

Jonathan Bolshaw said “Whilst we’ve had positive feedback from many farmers who use Liquid Foot Care it is welcome that the results of this stringent research have categorically shown that Liquid Foot Care is effective in the battle against digital dermatitis.”
He added “With copper sulphate being so widely used on farms we are particularly pleased that Liquid Foot Care performed so well in a directly comparative test. When you consider that Liquid Foot Care is a natural product and the increasing concerns regarding copper toxicity, we feel that we have a product that carries some significant benefits over other available foot treatments.”
